– Approved Patterns –
In this document are the three patterns this group is using. Our current highest need is for the standard mask/Deaconess standard mask. Each pattern includes a photo tutorial and detailed instructions from the original PDF. You can also follow the video links to watch a tutorial on how to make each style of mask! Thanks for being willing to help our Healthcare Professionals in our community!
Standard Mask
Supplies needed:
– 100% Cotton fabric
– two 6.5” lengths of Elastic
OR four 12” lengths of fabric ties
OR four 12” lengths of bias tape
– Cotton thread


Mask with Filter Pocket
Supplies needed:
– 100% Cotton fabric, cut to 7.5” x 15”
– Strip of binding, approximately 2” x 7” (You can use fabric- See Making Your Binding directions below)
– two elastic pieces, cut to 9 3/4” (25cm) OR two fabric ties that’s 34” long
– Cotton thread

N95 Cover Mask
Supplies needed:
– Four pieces of 100% Cotton fabric, cut to 8” x 5”
OR two pieces of 100% Cotton & two pieces of PUL fabric, cut to 8” x 5”
– Two elastic pieces, cut to 7”
OR four fabric ties that are 12” long (These will be attached at the same spots where the elastic is attached)
– Cotton thread

3 Minute Mask
Supplies needed:
– 8.5” x 15” piece of 100% cotton prewashed fabric
– 2 pieces of ¼” elastic cut at 7.5”

Scrub Cap
Supplies needed:
– 2 Pieces of contrasting 100% cotton prewashed fabric: 2/3 yd each
- Cutting 2 circles per cap
- You can use 2 Quilter’s Quarters for a small-sized cap
– Elastic – 23- 25 inches of 1/4” or 3/8” wide elastic OR 46- 48 inches of bias tape/cording to tie

Surgical Cap
- PRINTABLE SURGICAL CAP PATTERN (Click to download – print at 100% scale)
- 100% cotton –1/3 yd. x width of fabric (44″- 45″) (pre-washed and dried)
Thread - Straight pins
- fabric scissors or rotary cutter and mat
- Sewing machine
- Iron
